Subject: Re: all i want for christmas ...

A funny story happened to me a few years ago. I suffered a stroke which landed
me in the hospital (well, it wasn't so funny at the time) - CAT scans and all
that. Scared the bejeezus out of me. I worried about dieing, not going to SPAH
again, still having a musical memory, walking, seeing, stuff like that.

Realizing after a few days that I was going to make it, I asked my doctor as he
was leaving my room "Doc, will I be able to play harmonica when I get out of
here?"

Without cracking a smile, he did the classic double-take and replied "Could
you play one when you came in here?". Then we both had a good laugh - He
probably waited years for a straight man like me to come along.

All my faculties returned, praise God, except memory - but he can't give back
what I never had. :-)

What does this have to do with loosing a tooth? Heck if I know.

Oh, yeh - I have two canines missing - went with that split gap for years -
looked like the grill on a 1950 Buick. Then I had removable bridgework done
to fill the gaps. Playing was awkward for a while but I got over it. I don't
feel right without those teeth now.

Now I look like the rear end of a '50 Buick, from any angle.
