Subject: On "Bends"

While I'm thinking about bends...

The term "bend" is misleading in that it makes you think of one note
*bending* into another, with a continuous pitch change.

But, many times in harmonica playing, a "bent" note is not accompanied
by this pitch swooping. You hit the "bend" directly so it sounds like
any other note, and come off it the same way.

I think a different term for describing the different available notes
from a reed or reed-pair would be better.

Maybe "altered" or something like that. So you have the 3' be called
the 3 draw altered 1/2 step. Then, when you want to distinguish between
the continuous pitch change and a "hit it directly" note, the terms
aren't confusing or overlapping.
