Subject: Annie Raines on PHC

I heard Paul Rishell and Annie Raines on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion last Saturday and really enjoyed them. I had heard of Annie Raines (through Harp-L) but had never heard her play before. Very nice blues. Incidentally, it was courtesy of Keillor that I first heard Robert Bonfiglio, who was a guest on his show in Richmond, VA, three years ago, where I happened to be in the audience.

BTW, let me add my two cents re the flak Mike Curtis caught over his post on why bands play loud. Mike, I took your preamble in the spirit with which it was intended and was in no way offended. Also, I'm glad you posted that to the list rather than private email. I found the content interesting and helpful, and I would encourage more such technical matter from anyone privileged with the knowledge.

I hope I'm wrong in perceiving an increase in thin-skinned or humorless people posting to the list. People, please lighten up.

>A good general rule for this group (and many others!) is to ask "could this be intended as humor?" And when in doubt, laugh!

I agree, Mike.
