To JAIME from Columbia: Welcome to Harp-l. You may be the first Harp-l subscriber from Latin America. I don't recall any other postings from there since I signed on last August. That means you will have an interesting perspective to share with the rest of us. I understand there is a lot of chromatic harmonica activity in Brazil, for example, but so far we have not heard much about that on the list.

How did you happen to become interested in harmonica in the first place? Do you hear harmonica on the radio to TV in Columbia? What brands of instruments are available there? Do the music stores carry both diatonic and chromatic harmonicas? I think most of us on the list would be interested to know about this.

Perhaps you can indicate more fully what your own musical interests and objectives are? Blues, jazz, latin, classical, country, pop? Diatonic or chromatic? That will help us in directing you to appropriate books, training videos, CDs, etc.
