Subject: Cheap Harps-Probably Me

>I've found a couple of inexpensive harmonicas that seem pretty good, and a couple that don't.

>o The Huang harps are less than ten bucks each and come in all normal keys. I like both the Silvertone Deluxe and the Star Performer, which is a Hohner Golden Melody clone. Made in China.

I'm a beginner who recently purchased a SP harp in C. I have 4 other harps - -- all S20's in A, C, D, & F. On all S20's I can fairly consistently hit all the draw bends, but am still inconsistent on the blow bends. On the new SP, however, I have trouble sounding the low draw notes, especially the 3 hole. The holes feel like they are plugged, then pop open as I keep drawing to sound the reed. My bet is that this is a problem in my technique. Any suggestions would really help.

Thanks,

-- Pete
