Do you collect tube amps or work on them? Do you go to guitar shows and take pictures? Do you know tips and techniques for playing amplified blues harp that you'd like to share.
I need bloggers who are willing to post to harpamps.com a few times a month on Tube Amp related subjects (not spam). Your posts will reach 20,000 readers each month. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks, Keith

  Masco Mania

Here is a newly acquired, right out of the box vintage Masco ME-18P. This unit has the phono/turntable on top, hence the P in the model #. I just quickly soldered in a 1/4" connector for a speaker out and played my Seagull thru it. It has a piezo pickup, cedar top, etc. and it was spectacular. This amp is 18w output but more than enough volume for anyone. I could not crank it very far before it got really loud. I will try an electric thru it soon. I have not tried the turntable with a record but it does spin when I turn on the switch on top. It plays 78s, 45s, 33s. I have attached some pics. This unit arrived in the electronics store in Denver where I got it today on Nov. 1, 1957 and has all the paperwork and a letter from Mrs. Mark A. Simpson, including the orig shipping box and packing. What a beaut! Jam on.

Dear jerry,

my name is Daniele and I am an Italian hobbyst harp player. I have read with great interest your post about the Masco since I have a working Italian Radio FM/ phono/ turntable dated 1957 which looks very similar to your Masco and through which i would like to try to play amplified harp. How can I do ? Where/how to create an imput for an HI-Z Mic ? Any suggestion would be really appreciated !

Ciao,

Daniele, Florence, Italy

The masco you looked at is an amplifier. Does your model have any imput jacks for a microphone? There might be some threaded looking things on the side maybe? If you send me some picture I will see if I can help.
Thank you,
Duane
